Let me share a little story with you. Many years ago, I picked up my first watercolor brush when I started designing greeting cards. I packed up my artist suitcase, exhibited my cards in New York and poured my heart into creating cute, whimsical cards that brought people joy. It was tons of fun!
But somewhere along the way, I realized something. Being a greeting card designer was just the beginning!
I also started my 50 states project, where I took a virtual tour across the US and began painting every iconic state symbol by hand to create watercolor maps of each state. This is how I found my style.
Everything I wanted to do centered around painting. I became obsessed with understanding watercolor and my sketchbooks started filling up.
The simple joy of creating by hand felt like magic!

Watercolor doesn’t have to be intimidating or complicated. You don’t need a fancy studio or endless supplies—just a brush, some paint and the curiosity to explore.
